Welcome to the Year 4 class page. Miss Housden, Mrs Bimson and Mr Hunter will all be working in Year 4 this year. On this page, you will find information about the curriculum and year group expectations in Year 4. We will be aiming to update the website regularly with photographs and information about what is going on in our classroom this year.

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Our homework will be set on Tuesdays and returned into school on Mondays.

Water, Water Everywhere!

This half term our unit in Year 4 is 'Water, Water Everywhere'. We will be learning all about rivers in geography, discovering how water can be used as a subject in art, and reading The Mousehole Cat in English. In history, we will be studying Ancient Egypt, starting off with our exciting Ancient Egyptian Day! 

Passport to Europe

This half term our unit in Year 4 is ‘Passport to Europe’. We will be learning all about Bavaria in geography, designing and making our own passport holders in DT and learning to sing and play Mamma Mia in music! Lots of the children are already familiar with the song and did brilliantly during their first practice.

The Great Plague

This half term we are learning about The Great Plague. We will be discovering how the plague changed life in London in 1665, and whether or not a plague doctor's mask would actually help protect them from catching the plague. In geography, we are learning about how we can best protect our environment by sorting and recycling our waste correctly.

Sparks Might Fly!

This half term we have been learning all about electricity. We have been making circuits and even made our own switches! Our new knowledge about circuits has been put into practice to make quiz boards for answering questions in class. We hope you like our prototypes!
