A Kingdom United

What was it like during Anglo-Saxon times?

An action packed day living as Saxon's, we started the day building our Saxon house using willow to weave the frame then mixed the mud to waterproof the house. After a bit of hunting we were ready to start to prepare our delicious pottage, a selection of vegetables and oats. This then had to be cooked on the fire we had prepared.

In geography, we have looked at the UK and physical and human features of different areas. Using Digi-maps we could identify aerial photographs and used six-figure coordinates to identify various places.

In science, we have looked at the properties of different materials and tested which made the bet thermal insulators.

Food, Glorious Food.

Where does our food come from?

We have been looking how different climates affect the food that we eat and the food that grows in different countries. We have also look at the environmental affects that transporting our food has. As part of our DT, we have found out about the different Christmas foods eaten in different countries and have researched how these are made ready for a fun time making them.

In science, we have been looking at reversible and irreversible changes and how these are different.

We have also completed Bikeability level 2 training and are now all confident when riding our bikes on the road.
