Letter from Executive  Director of Education and Children's Services - 10th July 2020

Tuesday 16th June 2020

You may be aware that Lancashire County Council have now given schools the go ahead to open to more pupils. Our plan for 8th June will now begin on Monday 22nd so those children in Reception, Y1 and Y6 who we are expecting to return should have received a message on Dojo, or will do very shortly, to confirm this.
From 29th June, Y2 will also be able to return and you will also be receiving a Dojo message with more information about this.
For children in Y3, 4 and 5, online learning will continue until the summer break. We have been really pleased by the hard work you and the children have put into making the most of the new way of learning over the past few weeks and hope to hear about the government’s plans for September very soon.
Children in these year groups who have been attending school over the last few weeks may continue to access the ‘Key Workers’ group and from Monday they will be able to have a school lunch if required. These will be cold packed lunches. If you would like your child to be provided with a lunch, please email bursar@ appleybridgeallsaints.lancs.sch.uk to confirm which days your child will attend between 22nd June and 17th July and whether a lunch is required. The children in this group should meet at the wooden gazebo near Y2 at 8.55 and be collected from there at 3.30.
Any other questions regarding this group should be sent to head@appleybridgeallsaints.lancs.sch.uk

Monday 8th June 2020

Lancashire County Council have reviewed the situation today, 8th June, and the decision has been made for Lancashire schools not to open from 15th June. The situation will be reviewed by the Director of Public Health next Monday and I will be in a position to update you further then.

Therefore, school will not be open for Reception, Y1 and Y6 next week.

I shall update you again following the review on 15th.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Thursday 4th June 2020

'Following the email sent last week, I can now update you regarding the wider re-opening of school.
Lancashire County Council will review the situation on 8th June with a decision being made as to whether schools can go ahead with their plans from Monday 15th.
Therefore, school will not be open for Reception, Y1 and Y6 next week.
I shall update you again following the review on 8th.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Thursday 27 May 2020

Thank you for the replies sent to the teachers in Reception, Y1 and Y6 regarding sending your child back to school from 8th June. If you haven’t done so yet, please respond by Monday 1st so that final preparations can be carried out.

You may be aware that yesterday the Director of Public Health for Lancashire advised all Lancashire schools NOT to open next week as 2 of the 5 tests set out by the government have not been met in Lancashire.

This advice is to be updated regularly but there is a possibility that the 8th June will also be regarded as too early and therefore not safe to bring back more children. We will keep you informed as we get the information which unfortunately is always rather last minute.
School will continue to remain open for children of Key Workers.
