Year 3 Collective Worship

WWI Themed Work

The children from across school worked hard during their themed weeks on WWI. They investigated life at home and away for the soldiers, their families and animals. The children took part in worship sessions around the theme and linked with our Christian Value of Compassion. 

As the week progressed you could really see many examples of Compassion in the children's responses to what they had discovered and in the work which they produced. The pupils in KS2, who researched the men from Appley Bridge who lost their lives in the war, really showed understanding and empathy for these real people who were affected-very powerful!
